WHY DO SO many starlets come to Houston instead of getting plastic surgery in Hollywood?

Dr. Franklin Rose, known for his work on dozens of celebrities from Houston and elsewhere says choosing the right plastic surgeon and preserving a beautiful and natural look for his patients is key.

Dr. Rose explains, “We are a little less expensive than some of my Beverly Hills colleagues, and sometimes there’s the perception in Los Angeles that maybe you don’t get quite the individualized attention that you would receive elsewhere. When it comes to plastic surgeons, the patient has to be careful about whom they choose. I think when you do good work you become known for that.”

About a hundred celebrities and Hollywood insiders from across the country have sought his services, including many contestants from ABC’s The Bachelor. Dr. Rose, noted as “the Michelangelo of Plastic Surgery” by Houstonia magazine and “The plastic surgeon Reality TV stars and celebrities travel to when they want a makeover” by Star magazine, is known for his ability to make women look “un-done,” he says.

According to implant manufacturers, Houston boasts more breast augmentations per capita than anywhere else in the world. “Some surgeons, in my estimation, can be a bit overzealous,” says Dr. Rose. “A nose where too much has been done is telltale, facelifts that are too tight do not look good, nor a breast augmentation that is too big. We’ve all seen facelifts of yesteryear where the patients are just pulled so tightly, it looks like kind of a wind tunnel. It doesn’t look pretty.”

The newer facelifts he’s doing on his patients use smaller incisions and stem cells from a patient’s own fat, all making for a less painful and much shorter recovery and beautiful results. Says Dr. Rose: “Most patients want a natural-looking nose that is not too sculpted or pinched looking. Facelift patients don’t want to look too tight. Liposuction patients don’t want any irregularities. So it’s a very natural look that is always the goal.

“Our team at Utopia Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa is integral to providing the highest quality of care to everyone who visits our office in Uptown Park for the latest in surgical and non-invasive technology. We’re pleased to offer a wide range of cosmetic solutions for both women and men, including facelifts, nose and eyelid surgery, breast augmentation, liposuction and much more.”
