Roaring Good Time

At the Asia Society’s annual Tiger Ball, a multipart evening began with a cocktail hour in the Taj Mahal-themed Chevron Gala Pavilion, which covered Southmore Boulevard between Caroline and Austin. After a few glasses of bubbly, guests headed inside, where dinner tables were scattered throughout the stunning, Yoshio Taniguchi-designed building. After dinner, festivities resumed in the outdoor pavilion, where a Polynesian dance ensemble entertained during dessert.

He’s been on a world tour with Orphaned Starfish Foundation, the nonprofit that helps orphans, survivors of trafficking, and refugees break their cycles of abuse and poverty. Garcia is traveling to all 80 of the foundation’s programs around the world, creating unique art pieces that aim to capture each program's unique feel with color, shape and words.
