The spring social calendar was packed with fashionable lunches. At the Latin Women’s Initiative’s annual affair — this year on Cinco de Mayo! — a runway presentation of a trio of designers concluded with a tequila toast. ... The Houston Symphony’s Wizard of Oz-themed children’s fashion show and family-friendly luncheon included adorable looks by Macy’s, and the popular instrument “petting zoo.” ... The Spirit of Spring event took over the ballroom of the Royal Sonesta hotel, raising $250,000 for the Children’s Assessment Center. The crowd of 450 was moved by the testimony of Rachel Thomas, a survivor of human trafficking.

Its annual Making a Difference luncheon, this year chaired by Vicky Dominguez with honorary chairs Leisa Holland Nelson Bowman and Leila Perrin, raised more than $150,000.
