Colton Haynes and four other 'Arrow' cast members will headline Houston's Comicpalooza in May. Haynes is also a celebrated memoirist.

SOME PLANS FOR Houston's Comicpalooza this spring were announced today, and fans of Arrow will be especially intrigued.

The stars of the cult-fave superhero series — Stephen Amell, Colton Haynes, Rick Gonzalez, Juliana Harkavy and Josh Segarra — will “reunite” at the multi-format pop culture event and expo that runs May 26-28 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, per an announcement this morning.

“We are pleased to roll out the first of this year’s guest lineup with the stars of the beloved series, Arrow, and can’t wait to announce more guests in the coming weeks,” said Aimée McCurtain, an exec for both Comicpalooza and Houston First Corporation, in a statement.

“We are excited to return to our traditional Memorial Day weekend dates and deliver an unforgettable event,” added McCurtain. “Whatever fandom you are interested in, our diverse programming, guests, and exhibition floor gives everyone the opportunity to create their own unique Comicpalooza adventure."

Now available on Netflix, Arrow ran for eight seasons, having debuted in 2012 of the The CW. It’s part of the DC Comics universe and follows a billionaire playboy turned crime fighter, played by Amell, currently starring Heels on Starz. Haynes, who portrayed streetwise sidekick Roy Harper on the show, has made the news recently as his at turns sad and seedy memoir, Miss Memory Lane, made waves; the book includes behind-the-scenes drama from the Arrow set, and a shockingly raw look at the tawdry side of Hollywood and the modeling industry just before the MeToo movement.

“Comicpalooza features hours of diverse, interactive programming that spans anime, comic books, cosplay, gaming, literature along with kid’s activities, entertainment, special attractions, exhibitors and more,” said a rep for the event’s organizers.
