THERE'S A MOMENT just before dusk when everything turns to gold—the light softens, the world slows, and indulgence feels not just necessary, but deserved. Welcome to Golden Hour at The Marigold Club, where opulence meets effortless charm and your midweek unwind turns into an exquisite ritual.
From Tuesday through Sunday, between 5 and 6 PM, The Marigold Club transforms into a haven of refined indulgence for their newly launched happy hour. Think half-off champagne by the bottle, caviar service that feels straight out of a Bond film, crisp martinis that demand slow sipping, and a spread of oysters and snacks that elevate the entire affair. Because sometimes, a little decadence is exactly what you need. Enjoy half-off champagne by the bottle, half-off martinis, half-off shrimp cocktail, half-off caviar service, half-off bar snacks, and half-off French fries—each bite and sip is designed to make your evening effortlessly luxurious.
While you are there, discover the intricate mural by Pauline de Roussy de Sales , where hidden nods to The Marigold Club’s story come to life. Delight in the playful crochet art “Sardines on Toast” and “Seafood Salad” by Kate Jenkins , bringing humor and charm to every detail. And don’t miss Sabrina Bockler’s surrealist painting, “Hungry Hearts,” which blends Golden Era Dutch influences with modern themes of identity and abundance. From the hand-painted wallpaper by London’s Degournay to the Murano chandeliers and sconces from Vernier House each piece is a masterpiece in its own right. Every corner of our space is a story, told through art and craftsmanship.
Whether you’re toasting to something grand or simply treating yourself just because, The Marigold Club’s Golden Hour is the perfect backdrop. It’s about savoring the finer things, letting time slip away in the most stylish way possible, and making the evening a little more golden.
So, what are you waiting for? The bubbles are chilled, the oysters are fresh, and your seat is waiting.
*The Marigold Club Golden Hour is available anywhere in the restaurant from 5 – 6 pm Tuesday – Sunday.

Tulum Vibes in the Heights: Obsidian Flow Yoga Brings Luxe, Retreat-Like Studio to Houston
Jun. 2, 2025
A SLICE OF Tulum is arriving in the Heights with the opening of Obsidian Flow Yoga on June 16. Designed to channel the peaceful, rejuvenating energy of the famed Mexican destination, this new boutique yoga studio is setting a new standard for modern wellness spaces — without the need for a passport!
Obsidian will blend boho-luxe aesthetics, lush greenery and warm textures to offer an immersive retreat experience to yogis. From infrared-heated vinyasa flows to restorative, prenatal and family yoga, the studio is designed to meet students at every stage of their journey.
Owners Alfonso Moguel and Carolina Simon, inspired by international wellness destinations, envisioned Obsidian Flow as a community-rooted sanctuary. “We wanted to create a space that feels like a retreat, one that organically grows within Houston but also evokes that grounding, soulful energy of Tulum,” they shared. The studio is committed to community giving and has already partnered with Southern Kindness Gallery and the American Cancer Society.
Obsidian also offers access to the Ember Suite, a luxury, bookable spa-shower experience, as well as onsite Cold Plunge sessions— ideal for recovery and rejuvenation. And, the Obsidian Shake Bar will feature organic smoothies.

ALWAYS AN ENERGETIC event, the Latin Women's Initiative Luncheon and Fashion Show did not disappoint. Held at the Hilton Americas, the day started, per usual, with a marketplace (and tequila-tasting!).
After they sipped and shopped, the 850-plus guests filed into the ballroom for the main event — the group’s 30th-anniversary celebration. Johanna Terry Events’ emerald-hued décor and florals were a beautiful nod to the milestone.
The fashion show was presented on a massive Y-shaped runway by Saks Fifth Avenue. Produced by Lenny Matuszewski and Tamara Bonar, it starred Houston firefighters among the models. Argentine-born Puerto Rican actor and TV host Julián Gil made a surprise appearance on the runway, too!
The ritzy raffle included items like a fabulous diamond tennis necklace from Zadok Jewelers, which contributed to the more than $500,000 raised that afternoon. Net proceeds will benefit Justice Forward, Rebuilding Together Houston, Segundo Barrio, El Centro de Corazon, and Naba Shoes for Kids.
After the program, the festivities continued with dancing to the music from Grupo Kache — and a tequila toast, of course.
