SUPPORTERS OF THE nonprofit To Educate All Children (TEACH) hit TopGolf Katy for a laid-back, benevolent bash that raised more than $320,000.

The Tee Up Fore TEACH event, chaired by Phyllis Williams, included an online auction and onsite raffle, which touted prizes like jewelry, wine and a chef-catered dinner at Minute Maid Park. Speaking of the Astros, the Astros Foundation was honored for its longtime commitment to teachers and public education.

The organization, founded by Susan Sarofim and Mary Yenik, provides teachers with resources, support and professional development — services which were critical during the pandemic, when challenges facing educators were truly unprecedented.

More than 250 golfers enjoyed the casual-cool (ok, it was actually quite hot) day’s events, which included a TopGolf competition among teams.

Consistent habits, like disciplined work and effective communication, kept me moving forward. Being surrounded by motivated, supportive individuals has elevated my standards and kept me accountable. They’ve provided advice, encouragement, and sometimes that extra push I needed to stay on track. With these elements, I’ve been able to create a framework that helps me succeed and ensures I continue to grow and evolve.
