Intrigued by the legacy of Vichy's wellness traditions, serial entrepreneur and spa visionary LeBrina Jackson founded and aptly named her very first spa Pure Vichy, knowing she wanted to incorporate the healing powers of water into her offerings. Drawing inspiration from a visit to France and her passion for water-based wellness, LeBrina aimed to bring the essence of Vichy's healing waters to Texas, creating a sanctuary where clients could experience the revitalizing benefits of hydrotherapy that she had fallen in love with.
Today, LeBrina's dedication to Vichy's legacy lives on at her Escape Spa in Cypress, just outside of Houston. Offering a range of Hydrotherapy services, LeBrina’s treatments seamlessly integrate Vichy practices with contemporary spa techniques to stimulate circulation, aid in relaxation, and promote healing and wellness. Water therapy has proven beneficial for a variety of health conditions including arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain, cardiovascular diseases, and sports injuries, making the spa’s treatments perfect for anyone seeking an overall boost in their health and wellbeing.
“I read years ago that in Latin SPA stands for ‘solus per aqua’ or ‘health by water.’ Water has always held almost sacred space when it comes to healing,” explains LeBrina. “Then after experiencing the healing power of natural geothermal hot springs around the world as well as visiting Vichy, France, I realized I always felt like I pushed a hard reset button on my personal renewal. It became clear that if I wanted to offer authentic wellness therapies in any spa I would create, it was essential to incorporate water-based treatments into the service menu."

The beautiful ladies strutting their stuff included surgeons Tamara Saunders, Christy Moeller, Victoria Chang, Kelly Bree, Mara Antonoff, Kristy Hamilton, Sanaz Harirchian and Abigail Rodriguez; cardiologists Tim Pham and Brit Owen; anethesiologists Emily Peterson and Tiffany Su; family medicine practitioners Gabrielle Lyon and Monica Kalra; healthcare strategists Paola Alvarez-Malo and Alex Colver Brock; gastroenterologist Chami Amaratungee; gynecologic oncologist Anne Busisiwe Alaniz; researcher Livia Schiavinato Eberlin; and philanthropist and CEO Jessica Hatch Farrokhza.
Tootsies’ creative director Fady Armanious hand selected outfits for each of the models, and the crowd applauded and cheered them on as they took to the catwalk.
“Through medicine, art, creativity and community, we impact physicians’ and patients’ lives,” said Arts of Healing executive director Kristen Collins, who coordinates other events including a fall art show and gala, and a summer art camp for pediatric cancer patients. “We specifically design outlets and events for creativity and connection for the physicians, as well as patients.”

Step aboard a 43-foot power catamaran and enjoy a coastal cruise along Galveston Bay, Clear Lake and Kemah every other Wednesday evening; the $150 per person cost includes two craft cocktails and chef-curated appetizers before the hour-long excursion. There’s an early cruise (cocktails at 5:30pm; departure at 6:15pm) and a late cruise (cocktails at 7:15pm; departure at 8pm). The yacht conveniently docks at the Pier 6 marina, and guests are invited to stay for dinner and hang on the decked-out, two-story covered patio.
Optionally, boaters can extend their night further, booking a stay at the Pier 6 Bungalows, renovated and owned by restaurateur Raz Halili. And the restaurant can coordinate other private yacht charters and dock parties, too.
